International Students

Rivermount College welcomes enrolment enquiries from International students. Our aim is to provide an authentic Australian schooling experience where International students are integrated into the mainstream educational environment of the College. Admission to the College is subject to the availability of places.

Rivermount Education Ltd is registered as a Provider with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas students (CRICOS) - Provider Code No: 01248A to enrol full fee paying students who may wish to undertake study in the following courses:

International students applying for enrolment at Rivermount College are required to provide records showing satisfactory levels of academic achievement and English language skills appropriate to the courses being offered. Students will be required to sit for a reading comprehension and written expression exam.

COURSE AND ASSESSMENT DETAILS: All subjects and courses offered to International students have stated educational outcomes as specified in curriculum handbooks and individual work programs. A summary of subjects and courses is available to International students to assist them in making a suitable selection. More detailed information regarding assessment is available from the Admissions Office.


An application to admit a student into the College must be made on the official International Student Application for Enrolment Form together with the student's full birth certificate, and latest school report. Please note that the College will only accept reports that are translated in English

  • A non-refundable student Application for Enrolment Fee of $A50.00 should also accompany the application
  • A Student Enrolment Information Form must also be completed and returned to the College. This form must include student Medical Details and both postal and residential contact details (overseas and within Australia)
  • Information on family - a short outline written in English by the student about his/her family
  • Information on the student's behaviour, learning difficulties or any other areas of concern
  • A non-refundable Enrolment Fee of $A200.00 will be required if the students application is successful


Students must abide by the rules and regulations of the College and the terms and payment conditions as specified in the International Student Handbook and the International Fee Schedule. Copies are available upon request from the Admissions Office. Once the requirements have been met, Rivermount College will attend to the issue of a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) for International Students. This will enable the student to apply for their visa to take up study in Australia. GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS: Students must comply with the requirements of the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) regarding regulations governing international student entry into Australia. International students are required to purchase Overseas Health Cover for private medical insurance. The College is able to obtain such cover on the Student's behalf. International students should also seek prior approval from DIMIA before commencing a new course or changing courses.

CODE OF ETHICS: As a registered provider of courses for International Students, the College is bound by the Code of Ethics developed by the Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA). Copies of the Code of Ethics are available on request from the College or from the Queensland Education Overseas Unit.

HOMESTAY: Rivermount College will assist students in finding appropriate homestay arrangements, which will provide a supporting and caring environment throughout the duration of their stay.
