School-based traineeship sparks career success for Allanah

Year 12 student Allanah King recently completed her Assistant in Nursing (AIN) school-based traineeship, receiving a Certificate III in Individual Support.

Allanah's course took ten months to complete and is offered as part of the College's vocational education program, providing students in Years 10 to 12 specialised support through industry pathways.

Selected from over 100 applicants, Allanah worked alongside the nursing and midwifery team and nurse education team, based at the Metro South Health, Logan Hospital.

Labelled as the perfect nurse from her educators, Allanah developed a high level of rapport with her patients, showing compassion, honesty and integrity in abundance.

An advocate for Indigenous Youth, Allanah acknowledges the experience has filled her with confidence and equipped her with the skills to pursue her dreams.

Allanah now plans to further her education and embark on a Diploma of Nursing with Mater Education with a further goal to secure work as a qualified AIN, which will allow her to support herself financially during her continued study.

 Congratulations, Allanah.
