Primary GBC Basketball Report

Throughout Term 3, our Primary Basketball teams engaged in eventful and competitive rounds of sport, playing Schools within our GBC Primary Sport program.

Our students have excitedly written reports, recapping a couple of eventful fixtures and experiences encountered during these games.

RMC vs Redeemer Lutheran College

Rivermount College Year 5/6 Gold played their first game, against Redeemer Lutheran College. We all worked together as a team, passing the ball around and making sure we all had a chance to shoot. We all scored at least one goal! This was awesome as there were a few first time players. All in all, we worked well as a team to beat the opposition with the final score of 50 to 14. Well done RMC!

RMC vs Redeemer Lutheran College

The game started with Mitchell jumping up and getting the ball for the team and passing it to Angus for us to gain possession. Our team worked well, dribbling, passing and scoring. Our coach, Mr Volz, told us we were doing a great job at half time and to keep it up. Redeemer College started to score more points in the second half but in the end, we won with a score of 34 to 15.

RMC vs Sheldon College

Rivermount Year 5/6 Gold boys team, were playing Sheldon Sky. The team was falling behind in the first quarter, 12 to 2. We picked up our game and focused on our teamwork skills and also picking up our players. At the end of the third quarter, it was getting really close. Congratulations to Mitchell who scored a goal from near the halfway line in the last 10 seconds of the third quarter. It was very close and at the start of the last quarter, the score was Sheldon 21- Rivermount 16. We were determined to win. And we did! The finishing score was Sheldon 23 and Rivermount 26. What an amazing game!

RMC vs Sheldon College

The Year 3 and 4 Basketball girls team won by a whopping total of 16 to 6 against Sheldon College. The whole team played extremely well for their first game. Alice got 2 free shots and got them both in. Evelina shot 4 hoops and got 8 points. Jacey got 2 hoops and did a swish and also received player of the match from Sheldon for her sportsmanship. Well done to all the girls on a positive start to the season.
