HR Officer | Part-time

Rivermount College is a non-denominational, co-educational Christian College with a vibrant and inclusive community. Established in 1992, the College caters for 1000 students from Prep to Year 12. The College is continuing to positively expand and in 2021 a Kindergarten year will be introduced. The College employs approximately 150 staff.

The College is seeking to appoint a qualified, experienced, and motivated individual to join our Administration team in the role of Human Resources Officer. This position commences in January 2021 and is offered on a part-time basis, 3 days a week or equivalent.

The Human Resources Officer will support the College Principal and Business Manager with the development, maintenance, and implementation of HR systems, processes, and infrastructure related to recruitment, engagement, training and compliance of employees within the College.

A written application, clearly addressed to the Principal, and demonstrating the following selection criteria is essential

  • A degree in Human Resources coupled with a minimum of 2 years in a dedicated HR environment
  • An understanding of employment legislation, awards and enterprise agreements
  • Experience in providing general HR information to managers and employees
  • Experience in utilising HR systems and the ability to generate reports
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and the ability to set work priorities to meet deadlines
  • Advanced competency in the use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Recruitment and Selection methods and training development and delivery

As a member of the College staff, the successful applicant will be expected to work collaboratively with all staff, provide cross departmental assistance if required and diligently support the College’s mission and Christian ethos. Previous experience in a school environment is an advantage.
