Primary School Teachers (Prep – Year 6)

Primary Learning Support Teacher

The role of Primary Learning Support Teacher is to support students with diverse educational needs. The Learning Support Teacher facilitates a whole school commitment to the inclusion of students with disabilities and/or special learning needs.

ABOUT THE ROLES:

The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, resilient, and optimistic educators who build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues and collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Bachelor of Education or a degree/qualification with a Postgraduate Teaching Qualification.
  • Previous experience in Early Years and/or Upper Primary Teaching is desired.
  • Current Queensland College of Teachers Registration.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience teaching in the primary years, and a thorough understanding of the Australian Curriculum, with proven effectiveness benchmarked against the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers.
  • Willingness to embrace an inquiry-based learning pedagogy.
  • Competent at integrating digital technology into a contemporary learning environment.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and students.
  • Be able to work independently but also as part of a dynamic, creative, and collaborative team.
  • Effective behavioural management, planning and organisational skills.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • An enthusiastic, self-motivated, and professional attitude.
