Alex Petterwood Recognised for Outstanding Community Service
The College is proud to celebrate the outstanding community spirit of Year 12 student Alex Petterwood, who has received a Certificate of Community Service from The Order of Australia Association, Queensland Branch.
Presented at the 27th Secondary Schools Citizenship Awards, held at Queensland Parliament House on Friday 18 September 2026, these awards recognise the extra-curricular activities young people undertake to improve the lives of all Australians. The students nominated for these prestigious awards are role models for their fellow students and wonderful examples of future leaders who will contribute to the wider community.
As Alex was overseas on the College's Japan Outbound Tour, he was unable to attend the presentation in person. Instead, his parents proudly attended the ceremony to receive the award on his behalf.
This recognition is a wonderful acknowledgement of Alex’s commitment to helping others and making a positive difference. His willingness to contribute to the community and embrace opportunities to serve others is an inspiring example to our College community.
Congratulations, Alex. We look forward to seeing the positive impact you will continue to make in the years ahead.
