Year 7 student, Harvey Jorgensen, has taken an exciting step in his sporting journey after being selected to represent Queensland at the upcoming National Indoor Cricket Championships.
As part of the team that claimed the Under-12s State Title in September last year, Harvey successfully gained a place at the Indoor Cricket Federation of Queensland’s Under-14 State Selection Camp, held earlier this year. The gruelling three-day event comprised training, fitness testing, and match play to determine Queensland’s best young talent - and we are proud to announce that, following the event, Harvey made the Queensland team!
Harvey will represent Queensland at the National Championships in July at Casey Stadium, Melbourne. He will spend the next few months training with his team and refining their game plans before taking on competitors from around the country.
Harvey began playing outdoor cricket at just six years old and currently represents Alberton Ormeau Cricket Club. He made the Pacific Rim District Team in 2025 and the top 24 players list for the South Coast Regional Team. He has been playing indoor cricket for the past three years during the winter season.
Along with the opportunity for Australian selection, the Nationals will provide Harvey with invaluable experience as he competes at a higher level and age group, continuing to develop his skills and game awareness. With his talent and love of the sport on show, we wish Harvey the best of luck at the competition. We look forward to watching his sporting journey closely.
