Term 2 is now well underway and is already proving to be very eventful for our community. It has been wonderful to see our students once again engaging in an array of activities including the traditional ANZAC Day commemorations and annual cross country carnivals.

It was a memorable finish to Term 1 with all students from Prep to Year 12 combining to compete in the Inter-House Cross Country Championship. The House spirit was very much alive on the day and the level of participation was outstanding. Congratulations to our triumphant winners, Taylor House and to Magee House for claiming the Spirit Trophy. A special video presentation of the event is included below and showcases the genuine enthusiasm and enjoyment our students experienced on the day.

Last year we were unable to participate in or celebrate many events as a community, including the special tributes surrounding ANZAC Day. This year, however, our students proudly came together to honour the men and women who sacrificed their lives for the freedom we experience today. Students from Year 4 to Year 12 respectfully surrounded our Lone Pine memorial in the traditional minutes' silence with wreaths being laid in honour of our fallen soldiers. The Assembly was very moving and highlighted the importance of this day in our nation’s history and future. Captured below, in a short video tribute, are the highlights of this special event, including the participation of students in various local community commemorations.

The next important event for our Community is the annual College Foundation Day. This year we will be live streaming the Assembly through the closed Facebook group, My RMC Community. Our thirtieth Foundation Day will be held on Friday 14 May and I invite all parents to join us, via live stream, at 11:30am.

The involvement of families in College life is a crucial ingredient to developing and maintaining a positive partnership. This year we are once again inviting our community, including parents, guardians, staff and students to provide us with important feedback through the annual College survey. On Monday 10 May, an email will be sent to all families with a link to the 2021 survey. This is a great opportunity to share your views in a completely anonymous and confidential way. Please take the time to complete the survey and help us continue to provide our students with the best possible educational opportunities.
