Rivermount's musicians have once again made the College proud, delivering exceptional performances at the recent QUOTA Beenleigh Eisteddfod and showcasing the remarkable talent, dedication and teamwork that define our Performing Arts Music Program.
Leading the celebrations was our Senior Concert Band, with the students claiming First Place for their outstanding performance. This success was particularly special for the Year 12 students who have been members of the band for many years. The group now boasts a full instrumentation, with four talented Primary students from Years 5 and 6 also performing alongside their Secondary peers.
The adjudicator praised the band's rhythmic precision, musicality, smooth tempo transitions, and confident handling of challenging passages.
Our Senior Strings teams delivered stunning performances to finish Second Place, showcasing the rich, full sound that comes from having complete cello and viola sections. Impressively, six Primary students, including a Year 4 cellist, also performed with these ensembles, highlighting the depth of talent and opportunities available to aspiring musicians at The College.
The adjudicators praised the strings performers for their expressive musicianship, dramatic contrasts and strong ensemble unity.
Riverphire was recognised for its excellent projection and big sound, dynamic range and beautifully balanced harmonies.
Following are the Eisteddfod results across all ensembles:
These outstanding results are a testament to the dedication of our students, the expertise of our music staff and tutors, and the supportive culture that encourages students of all ages to perform together and strive for excellence.
Congratulations to all of our performers on their wonderful achievements.
We now look forward to seeing our Primary Ensembles take the stage at The College's MusicFest event later this term.
The College’s rock band, Backline Masters, will be back in action in the Battle of the Bands Competition, also later this term. We wish them the best of luck for the competition!
