The College Touch Football teams delivered outstanding performances at the recent Queensland Primary All Schools Touch Championships, held over three action-packed days of heat, rain, and lightning delays. The four teams, comprising students from Year 3 to Year 6, demonstrated their resilience, teamwork, and unwavering Rivermount spirit. Against some tough competition, they each qualified for the finals, which was an extraordinary milestone for the College!
The Junior Girls team battled through multiple drop-offs to reach the Grand Final, where they finished as Runners-Up after a tight 1–nil loss to Toowoomba. The Senior Girls mirrored that success, pushing through two intense drop-offs to make the Grand Final, narrowly being defeated 3-2 by Toowoomba, and also claiming Runner-Up honours. The Senior Boys powered into the Semi Finals, finishing Top 8 in Queensland! The Junior Boys showed grit and determination to finish 12th overall after a dramatic Quarter-Final drop-off.
Beyond the scoreboard, the results reflect months of early morning training sessions, lunchtime practices, and Friday night competitions.
The College would like to thank and acknowledge the dedicated coaches, parents, and caregivers who supported the teams throughout a challenging weekend and the football season.
Congratulations to all players. Your effort and spirit have made the Rivermount community incredibly proud.
