Last week, our Year 10 Geography students took their learning beyond the classroom with a hands-on experience at Sea World as part of their studies on climate change and marine environments.
The excursion began with an informative presentation exploring the impacts of climate change on the Arctic, providing students with a real-world case study to support their understanding of environmental change on a global scale.
Students then had the opportunity to dive a little deeper, snorkelling through Sea World's artificial reef! The immersive experience allowed them to observe a marine ecosystem up close and discuss the importance of healthy reef environments, helping to build valuable knowledge ahead of their upcoming assessment on the Great Barrier Reef.
The excursion was a fantastic opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences, providing students a greater appreciation of the challenges facing our oceans and the importance of protecting these unique ecosystems.
