Year 5 Strikes Gold with Hands-On History Adventure

Our Year 5 students stepped back in time this week, immersing themselves in the excitement of the Australian Gold Rush at their Eureka Gold Rush Excursion. The interactive experience provided students with a hands-on opportunity to explore what life was like on the goldfields in the 1850s, taking on the roles of miners, shopkeepers and townsfolk.

Throughout the day, students panned for gold, baked traditional damper, searched for elusive bushrangers, bargained for supplies at the general store, and took part in an exciting gold hunt!

The excursion brought Australian history to life, providing valuable insight into the challenges, perseverance and community spirit that shaped one of Australia's most significant historical periods. Thank you to our staff and the team at Eureka who helped to make this possible.
