Arts Captains Lead the Team in Queensland Theatre’s The Scene Project
Thirteen talented Secondary students from The College’s A1 Drama Club recently took part in The Scene Project, Queensland Theatre’s largest educational program for Years 7 to 12. Now in its 11th year, The Scene Project empowers students to explore the creative process of theatre making by devising their own unique interpretation of a commissioned play. As part of the program, participants then share their work with an audience of professionals and peers from other schools.
Under the guidance of our College Arts Captains, our team of novice and more experienced performers rose to the challenge! The Queensland Theatre actors praised our students for having strong focus, creating memorable dramatic moments, and for their active listening. They also extended compliments to our Arts Captains for their leadership, energy, and skill in directing and performing as part of the team.
In addition to presenting their own piece, our students had the opportunity to watch performances from other schools and enjoy a professional production of Recalibrate by Queensland Theatre, rounding off an inspiring and memorable experience.
