Year 2 Students Explore First Nations Culture at Jellurgal

Our Year 2 students recently enjoyed an interactive excursion to the Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre to learn more about the rich history and traditions of Australia’s First Nations peoples.

The day began with a special Welcome to Country featuring live Aboriginal song and dance. The young adventurers then visited the Dreaming Amphitheatre for a cultural presentation before exploring an interactive map of the local area. During a guided walk through Burleigh Head National Park, students discovered important cultural sites and listened to Dreaming stories connected to Jellurgal (Burleigh Headland). They also learned about Aboriginal history on the Gold Coast.

The immersive experience provided students a deeper understanding and appreciation of First Nations culture while creating memorable learning moments outside the classroom.
