2022 Immersive Experience Digital Gallery
Inquiry phase 1 is the initial stage in the self-directed body of work for Year 11 Visual Art students. Unit 3 explores the concept of 'Art as knowledge, and through this investigation, students were given the opportunity to view ‘The Soul Trembles’, an immersive exhibition by Chiharu Shiota. An internationally renowned artist known for her transformative, large-scale installations.
Students’ experiences of this exhibition served as a stimulus for the research and experiments that helped inform the focus of their art practice. Knowledge and aesthetic experiences were explored during this excursion, enriching critical thinking, making and responding to guide future creative processes.
